“I work at Total Care Animal Hospital and technically I’ve been employed there since I was in eighth grade. I started by working in kennels, which consisted of washing and feeding animals, but I eventually moved up to work in reception. A few weeks ago, I turned 18 and I could finally work my way up to be a veterinary technician. My mother is a veterinary technician, which is what originally sparked my interest in this career.”

“I love the people I work with because they are like family to me. I wanted to get a part-time job so I could start saving up for college. It helps having extra money for myself. This is my first job, and I’ve found it is easy to manage work with school because we close pretty early which gives me enough time to go home and get my schoolwork done.”

“I work at Layne’s Chicken Fingers. It’s a fun environment to work in because most everyone that works there goes to Heritage or any other Frisco school. I decided to get a part-time job, because I got a car and I needed money for gas. I had a lot of free time aside from school so I figured getting extra money on the side would be nice, especially since I needed to start saving up for college. It wasn’t easy to manage work with schoolwork at first, but with communicating to my managers about my schedule, I noticed it start to get a lot easier on me.”
