Three of our juniors are starting their careers started now.

Over the past year, juniors Antonio Mendiola,Vyas Nellutla, and Shivam Dutt placed highly in competitive competitions for Computer Science.

They placed fifth out of 150 teams in the computer coding competition, Code Wars, and placed first in UIL for Computer Science in April.

“Before and after the contests, there’s a wide sense of community,” junior Vyas Nellutla said. “We’re all gamers, we’re all computer science enthusiasts. So it’s really nice to be able to communicate with people who share the same interest.”

The boys see the value in video games and now create their own games.

“I’ve become the big game designer and I help design the story,” junior Antonio Mendiola said. “I make the graphic aspect and the style of the game.”

Games are more than a profit to them, there’s a purpose.

“The main purpose of that is to make a story,” Mendiola said. “They send a message, they teach people something. It’s a whole different field. So what I’m trying to do is I’m trying to make a story. I’m trying to leave something with the people.”

They’re working together to create a video game business.

“For all of us we hit it off with video games,” Nellutla said. “That’s how we bonded. Ever since then we’ve been working together.”

This is just the beginning in the Coyotes journey to success.

“With every game we are going to go bigger and better,” Dutt added. “Until we are as big as Nintendo.”

The company has brought the boys closer together.

“They really push me to become better,” Dutt said.
