The new year marks the beginning of many sports competition seasons, a time when all kinds of sports get to show their skills to the world, including the often less noticed sport, cricket. Many women’s cricket players find it challenging to work in an unpopular sport mainly dominated by men. CNTV’s Hemanya Kukkapalli goes into how women’s cricket is gaining more attention in the sport.

Hemanya Kukkapalli used Coyote Nation TV to step out of her comfort zone. Now she is a first-year staffer in Coyote Nation TV and a junior at Heritage High School. She enjoys editing and filming. She hopes to grow as an anchor, expand her skills as an audio engineer, and be a crucial support to the team. Alongside broadcast, she has an ever-growing interest in the medical field and a passion for playing tennis.
