The Highsteppers continue to prepare for Spring Show without their director Cami Cole.

This season, our Highsteppers went through a drastic change when their director Cami Cole, went on maternity leave and had her first baby.

“It’s been hard without Mrs. Cole,” senior Ticheria Reed said. “But I know she will be proud of what we have gotten through.”

Mrs. Cole’s maternity leave started December 22nd and since then her students have been practicing for Spring Show.

“Even though she isn’t here, Miss Simone is help[ing] us choreograph and help us polish our dances for the big show,” Reed said.

Every year, drill team has an annual Spring Show with a different theme each year, containing dances that best suit the theme of that year.

“The girls have definitely stepped up their game as far as choreography,” said Miss Jacklyn Simone, the interim director.

Miss Simone is happy to help prepare the Highsteppers for Spring Show.

“She has helped us in many ways and is a great (interim) director,” sophomore Tatiana Robinson said.

They continue to put in hard work for the big day during designated class periods, practices after school and even some practices as early as 5 A.M.

“This year’s Spring Show will be a success, so you don’t want to miss it,” Simone said.
