The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) cord is just one of many cords that you can earn here at our school.

Many seniors want to have accomplishments to look back on after they graduate. So some students achieve their goals through participating in a club and earning a cord.

“I wanna look back at something and see what I’ve achieved over the four years,” senior Aishwarya Bhagyanagar said.

“I wanted something to show that I put a lot of effort into a club,” senior Rica Llagas said.

Some clubs that offer graduation cords are the National Art Honors Society, Health Occupations Students of America and many more.

These cords can also be a great way to show how some students have achieved certain goals through a club.

“It just means that I’ve achieved something. Like through these four years I’ve done art every single year and it’s been something that I’ve always just liked doing,” Bhagyanagar said.

“I think to me it personally means three years of hard work. I’m competing all three years that I’ve been in DECA. I’ve been an officer for two of those years and so it’s just [an] accumulation of all the hard work that I’ve put into the the club,” Llagas said.

Graduation cords have many other advantages that can also help in the future, such as getting into college and jobs. Cords can look good on college resumes and can even get you into special programs.

“I’m hoping to take a minor in business when I go to college and so I can continue my business career,” Llagas said.

“Many students want to earn their graduation cord because they do want to put it on their college applications,” Mrs. Lark said.
