Yearbook staff takes a look “Within”
The yearbook may just seem like another keepsake that commemorates your teen years, but many Coyotes don’t know what it takes to get the final product.
The yearbook staff spends the entire year working on this product.
“You just really have to open yourself up to working not just in the hour and forty-five minutes you have in there, but before school, after school, during lunch,” said Mackenzie Throckmorton, a senior editor.
The hard work they have done this year has gone towards their new theme “Within.”
The theme was chosen because the staff wanted to get more within the school and aimed to go deeper into each story they covered.
“We really wanted to focus on personalities and how as individuals we’re unique, and then also how we make up the whole school too,” said Cassandra Vital, editor-in-chief.
Even though they work hard, many members of the staff truly enjoy the process.
“It’s just being able to see students in a different light, and other than just like peers you see them as people, and I think that’s really cool,” Vital.
“I like talking to people and I like writing and I like coming up with ideas so yearbook was like the next best thing to being involved in the school,” said Megan Krodel, a senior editor.
The staff dedicates a large portion of their time to creating a memorable yearbook.
“We can’t control when the story’s gonna happen so we just have to be there as it’s happening, so that constitutes being there on Friday night football, that constitutes being there you know for a Monday night volleyball game, or Senior Night,” said yearbook advisor Rebecca Pollard.
The time the staff dedicates to the yearbook has led to some strong bonds between the staff members.
Many of the editors feel this helps them work together as a cohesive, well-oiled machine.
“They really enjoy each other’s company and they bond and they work for each other, and in my opinion I just kind of feel like that dynamic really brings out some dedication for these kids to really tell the stories for the rest of the student body,” said Pollard.
After their dedication and work on the hard-hitting theme this year the staff said they are definitely excited for the new edition of “The Tribute.”
