Each year between December and January, the average adoption rate rises 27% according to the American Humane Society and for some, adopting pets through rescue organizations is the best option . CNTV’s Laila Mitchell gives us an inside look at the pet rescue process.

Senior Laila Mitchell is continuing her time as a 3rd-year vet on the CoyoteNationTV team. Being a part of the team, she has experienced new opportunities such as attending the Student Television Network competition (STN) as well as placing third in anchor reads at a local broadcast competition. When she’s not in the newsroom, she can be found cheering on our varsity sports team on the field. Outside of school, she was formerly part of a competitive cheer team, where she won the NCA National Championship and the Summit World Championship. Laila is also passionate about her academics, family, and pets. After high school, Laila plans to get a degree in communications at the University of Texas at Austin or the University of Houston while still pursuing skills she’s learned through being a part of CNTV.
