On January 16-18, 2020 the Heritage cheerleaders took on the mat at the  UIL Spirit State Championships at Fort Worth Convention Center. The cheer team practiced most mornings in front of the auditorium in order to prepare for the event, and continue to practice for future events. In addition to future events, they learned cheers for basketball games and pep rallies. Starting last school year they now have their own class period instead of having no choice but to practice before or after school all of the time. Now, their long hours learning and perfecting the routine has come to a close as they perform in the championship, scoring 185.
